How can we use the Internet to communicate when disaster strikes a community?
the internet is a very useful resource. you can find almost anything on it. there are many great resources you can use to find out what's going on in the world. these are some useful resources i use :
- igoogle - you can find almost anything on it . there are a lot of different gadgets you can use. there's a gadget for almost every single news channel or news paper from all around the world. There is also a weather gadget informing you what is the weather like and also an earthquake tracker.

-Phones - The phone is an amazing creation . It has solved many problems for us. With this creation we can keep in touch with people around the world . We can receive messages informing us about the latest news . When something bad happens we can make a phone call to inform people on what is going on.



-Skype - Skype is a program we use to connect with the people around the world. In this program you see the people you are communicating with through the web cam and you hear what they are saying. It's as if the person is actually standing right there in front of you.



-Radio- The radio is very very old creation that is still used these days. There are lots of news channels from around the world. Every single little thing that happens in the country is announced.



-Television- We can also spread the news through Television. Almost everyone watches T.V. There are all kinds of channels. There are news channels, weather channels,music channels, and entertainment channels.


- Blogs - Everyday people around the world create blogs . There are thousands and thousands of blogs on everything. Even on Natural Disasters. We use these to send a message to the people around us.



- E-mails - All types of e-mails are being sent today. almost everyday i get an e-mail informing me what is going on in the world . this is a very good way to spread the news, but only for the people who check their e-mails continuously .

The Design Cycle
The design cycle is a cycle students use to help them create a project. It breaks down the steps for them so that it is very simple to follow.
There are 5 different steps to the design cycle:

• investigate

• design

• plan

• create

• evaluate

If you follow this cycle then it will be very easy for you to do your project because with this process you re planning ahead and also knowing what you did wrong and what you will do next time.

Evaluation

The design of our presentation had changed from our original ideas. We didn't plan to bring in an actual Iphone and describe what it is, how to use it, what are its features and what each icon represents. It just happened. Our final presentation turned out to be well. We had a good amount of good quality photos. Our voice was loud and clear. We had good information about the Iphone. Although i think we could have found more information and used it to make our presentation better. I would recommend other students to do this next year because they will learn how to make a Voice thread and an Animoto. They can also use these 2 programs for other subjects.

Aoife: The Iphone is Apple's first Internet-enabled Smart phone. It combines the features of a mobile phone, wireless Internet and iPod into one package.

Latifa: The Iphone is very popular through out the world. They are even spoken of in the smallest countries as they are advertises everywhere

Latifa: As they are very expensive, over 2000QR it is important they are kept scratch less. These covers protect them from damage.

Aoife: All these little pieces are put together to create the Iphone

Aoife: There are many benefits from the Iphone such as, calculators, GPS, satellites, Internet, music etc.

Latifa: There are many different colours and designs that make iphones look nice.

Latifa: Iphones can also be used in school, Geography is our focus and this picture shows a map of France.

Aoife: Iphone also has precise maps so you can locate yourself. Navigation programs, so you can find out where you need to be going, how high above water level you are climate, humidity level, earth facts and Internet.


Aoife: It even alerts you when you receive messages, emails and phone calls

Latifa: This is a useful picture that indicates what each icon represents. You could use the calculator in math’s class, maps in geography class, notes for remembrance and the Internet for almost anything you want to know.

The iPhone is Apple's first Internet-enabled smartphone. It combines the features of a mobile phone, wireless Internet and iPod into one package. It is used for many thing throughout this world. For navigation, mathematics, Internet, music, photos, interaction and fun it can be used in school. for example you can use the iPhone instead of a calculator for math because it has a calculator on it. another way is you can write down your homework in notes on the iPhone instead of using a homework diary. one more way is when you forget something at home you can call using the iPhone. also there is a calender on the iPhone you can use it to remind you things you have to do.i think that the iPhone is suitable for all ages.

igoogle

igoogle can help me in a lot of ways. it can help me with my school work. for instiance when i have a reaserch to do i can just search on igoogle. if i want to know what a word means i can use the igoogle dictionary. when i want to translate something i use igoogle. when i want to change currencies i can use it. if i want to change a measurement i can use i google. the last thing is igoogle allows you to meet new people.

i am a person who loves technology. when technology entered my life it changed everything. the most piece of technology i love is the iPhone. i got it as a birthday gift from someone.i was so excited to get this piece of technology when i first heard about it. it allows me to do allot of things . i like it because it is a phone, ipod,computer and a camera at the same time. it also has some other features. it can help me in school. for instance when we're in science we use calculators. instead of using a calculator i can use my iPhone because it has a calculator on it. i can also use it in math class when the teacher allows us to. when i have homework i can just write down what it is in ''notes'' on my iPhone. when it's break time i can use my iPhone to listen to music so it can keep me busy. when i forget something at home and i need it for my next lesson i can use the iPhone to call home and tell them to bring it. Anyways i am happy with it and i thank apple for creating the iPhone.
